When is the Chinese Spring Festival? 春节 / chūnjié, also known as the Spring Festival and the Chinese New Year, is observed in accordance with the traditional Lunar calendar, so the exact dates differ from year to year. In 2021, the Spring Festival will be celebrated on February 12, but the seven-day public holiday will start one day before that - on 除夕 / chúxī / the New Year’s Eve.
